Paul Green, SRC rower is an amazing story, in that he lives having Parkinson's Disease, and is still an athlete at the age of 85 years old! His completion of the 2010 National Masters Rowing Championship in two events, and being the oldest athlete in the history of the event is a great accomplishment.
Under "Rowing" on this website, Paul is listed as honorary Admiral.

Keep up the good work Paul! We are all very proud of you!

Club BBQ, Music and rower’s celebration!
Our Master Rowers returned victorious from “Nationals”, and celebrated another national championship (6th out of the 10 years the club's been in existence!) Juniors now too returned, but from “Worlds” in the Czech Republic, and we celebrated their hard work as well!

On Tuesday, August 17th the club had a festive BBQ on the patio prepared by John Holzwarth and the Boathouse Restaurant which is rated highly by the NY Times. The night was fun filled with dancing to the live music by the river under a clear sky. The music was performed by the local favorite “Blue Steam Band” who played beat-full hits from past decades and present. As always all ages and guests were welcome.

We thank all who enjoyed the evening and look forward to the next club party on Thursday September 9th.
Save the date!

ROWING
  • Congrats to our Jr. medal winners at Jr. Club Nationals in Tennessee! Max Masperi, placed 2nd in the Jr. B 1x and then teamed up with Chris Babinec in the 2x to take another second place finish. Chris then teamed up with Jake Petterson, John Morrison, and William Ritter to take third in the Jr. B 4x for our last race of the regatta. We had many rowers make the finals as well and saw some excellent rowing all around! Great job!

  • Congratulations are in order for our Masters Program as well for last weekend’s Diamond States Regatta! Unfortunately the day was cut short due to foul weather, however at the time the officials called it over, SRC rowers were leading overall and rowing very well. Keep up the good work guys and gals.
